The beaded rosette is a solid-beaded, medallion that developed from Native American quillwork made in a circular form. Although quillwork was still being produced when beaded rosettes were initiated, beaded rosettes had started replacing quillwork as decoration on war bonnets, women’s dresses, bustles, neckpieces, and other regalia that our ancestors produced. Depending on the region, the dominant beadwork theme of rosettes may be geometric designs,  freestyle floral designs, other organic designs, or even all three together.
